In terms of protection, molded high-density foam provides solid protection to high-velocity shots without sacrificing weight to the chest protector. Thick PE foam offers great coverage and protection to the ribs so goalies can confidently take on those low angle shots when setup in the RVH. CCM then re-designed the shoulders and arms to a more squared construction to give butterfly style goalies a bigger look and as much net coverage as possible.
